Questions only your friends can answer

A quiz about yourself is a small game with a big pull: everyone wants to know whether they really know you. Write the questions — your favourite food, where you would go on holiday, what scares you — give each two to four answers and mark the right one.

Send one link to the group chat. Each friend types their name, answers one question at a time and sees their score at the end, with the right answer to every question. If you allow it, they also see how everyone else scored, which is usually where the fun starts.

The right answers never reach a friend's browser before they answer, so nobody can peek. Each person plays once.

How to make the quiz

Write first; sign in when you are ready to send it.

  1. Write the heading and up to fifteen questions about yourself. Give each two to four answers and tick the right one.

  2. Pick the colours and a cover photo, and choose whether everyone sees all the scores.

  3. Sign in, create the link and send it. Your own view shows every result as friends play.

What it does

A quiz game built for a group chat.

  • Up to 15 questions with two to four answers each
  • One question at a time, like a real quiz show
  • The score worked out on the server from answers nobody could see
  • Every right answer revealed after playing
  • A scoreboard of everyone who played, or private scores
  • One try per person
  • Cover photo, background and colours of your choice
  • Every result in your view of the quiz

When people use it

Whenever friends like a bit of friendly competition.

A birthday quiz in the group chat, with the best score winning the first slice of cake.

A couple's quiz before an anniversary dinner.

A team-building quiz about a new colleague in their first week.

A best friend's quiz for an old school group that lost touch.

A hen or stag party quiz about the bride or groom.

How scores are kept fair

Before someone plays, their browser receives the questions and answers but not which answer is right. When they finish, the server compares their answers with the right ones, saves the score and only then sends back the right answers.

Each browser or account plays once; trying again shows the saved result. The scoreboard sorts by score, and equal scores keep the order people played in.

Good to know

You need an account to create a quiz. Friends only type a name.

Each question has one right answer; there are no open questions or points for being close.

Anyone with the link can play, and with the scoreboard on, everyone sees the names and scores of those who played.

Tips

  • Mix easy questions with a few that only close friends will know.
  • Make the wrong answers believable, or everyone scores ten out of ten.
  • Keep it to eight to twelve questions so people finish it.

Friend quiz questions

Can friends see the right answers first?

No. The right answers stay on the server until a friend sends their answers.

Can someone play twice?

Not from the same browser or account; opening the link again shows their result.

Do friends need an account to play?

No. They type their name and play.

Can I hide the scoreboard?

Yes. Turn off showing everyone's scores; each friend then sees only their own, and you still see all of them.

How many questions can I add?

Up to 15, each with two to four answers.

Is the quiz free?

Yes. Making quizzes and links is free; you only need an account.
