Draw and guess

A draw-and-guess party game: one player peeks at a secret word and draws it while their team guesses against the clock, then the pen moves to the next team. Sixty built-in words or your own list; in a live room the drawing appears on everyone's phone.

Draw and guess

Split into teams: one player draws, their team guesses before the time runs out.

Drawing game

The party game with a pen

One player sees a secret word, draws it as fast as they can, and their team shouts guesses until someone gets it or the time runs out. Then the next team takes the pen.

The word stays hidden: the artist holds a button to peek, so everyone can watch the same screen. Sixty everyday things to draw come built in, or write your own list for a class, an office party or an inside joke.

In a live room the drawing appears on every guesser's own phone as it is drawn, which works for a family spread over a video call.

How to play draw and guess

Teams, a word, a pen and a clock.

  1. Type the team names and choose the turn length and the winning score.

  2. Start the game and pass the phone to the first artist.

  3. Hold the word button to peek, then draw while your team guesses.

  4. Tap Guessed for each word they get; when time runs out, the next team draws.

What the game includes

Everything for a drawing game night.

  • Sixty built-in words that are fun to draw
  • Your own word list instead
  • Two to six teams, turns of 60, 90 or 120 seconds
  • Play to 5, 10 or 15 points
  • Seven colours, an eraser, three brush sizes, undo and clear
  • Hold-to-peek word button on a shared screen
  • A live room where guessers watch the drawing on their phones
  • The words never leave the artist's device

Who plays it

Anyone with a pen arm and a loud voice.

Families after dinner.

Friends at a house party.

A class revising vocabulary with their own word list.

Remote teams on a video call, watching in a live room.

Kids at a birthday party.

How turns and scores work

Each turn the clock counts down from the length you chose. Every word the team gets earns one point and the next word comes up; a skipped word goes back to the end of the deck.

The deck is shuffled with the browser's secure random generator at the start of the game, and every word comes up once before any repeats. The first team to reach the target wins.

Good to know

Guesses are said out loud; the game keeps the score, not a list of typed answers.

In a live room only the host's device draws; guessers watch and shout their answers.

Tips

  • Draw the outline first and details later; stick figures are fine.
  • No letters or numbers in the drawing: that keeps it fair.
  • For younger players choose 90 or 120 seconds.

Draw and guess questions

Can the guessers see the word?

No. The word shows only while the artist holds the button, and in a live room it is never sent to the guessers' phones.

Can I use my own words?

Yes. Choose My own words and type one per line, at least five.

How many teams can take turns drawing?

From two to six teams, each with its own score.

Can we play over a video call?

Yes. Open a live room: the others watch the drawing appear on their own phones while you draw.

Can I draw with a finger on a phone?

Yes. Draw with a finger; the board keeps its shape on any screen.
